I have to give credit for this idea to Linda W.  I'm sure there are many that have seen this, but I never really had a chance to see it until I was working in her classroom.  We were working on adjustments to her advertising unit and we came up with the idea of the students using different forms of electronic media to create their advertisements.  GoAnimate was one of the ways that the groups did this.  You have the ability to create a short video with a conversation between different characters.  There were some really clever commercials made.

I started thinking of different ways you could use this and found that people could use this in a lot of ways:
-Creating a commercial selling a product
-Have characters from a book discuss with each other
-Have people discuss a book
-Have people discuss results of an experiment and explain
-Have one person act like a teacher explaining information to another one.
(Pretty much anytime you want someone to summarize a piece of information)
You could also have people start their own story and show the interaction between characters.

There are great features, even on the free version
-Easy to make because once you pick your scene it runs you step by step through the process.
-Saves online so you can access anywhere
-Allows you to embed into a website
-You can record your own voice for dialogue instead of the computer-generated voice
-It allows for different languages, so you can have them speak in other languages (However, you have to know the correct words in that language, it won't translate)

There are also some limitations on the program if you use the free version (there is also a pay version):
-There are only 10 lines of dialogue with 180 characters in each
-Only a few settings (but they add additional fun ones every once in a while)
-Only a few characters for each setting
(The pay version allows for 30 lines of dialogue and all the scenes/characters that they have can be used as well)
